Reviving Traditional Utong Ngari Production and Pearl Farming

Manipur International University (MIU) successfully hosted a significant community initiative focused on Reviving Traditional Utong Ngari Production and Pearl Farming, reflecting its dedication to preserving indigenous traditions and promoting sustainable livelihoods.

We sincerely thank everyone who participated in and supported this meaningful program aimed at revitalizing Manipur’s rich cultural heritage.

The university was privileged to have Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, grace the occasion. We are truly grateful for his thoughtful address on the education system of Manipur and for engaging in an interactive session with the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), providing encouragement and valuable insights.

A special note of appreciation goes to all participants from the relief camps. Your enthusiasm, resilience, and commitment to safeguarding our indigenous heritage are deeply inspiring. Together, we are taking meaningful steps toward restoring and sustaining the traditional practice of Utong Ngari production for future generations.
